Window Film Aftercare Instructions

1. Curing Period (Very Important)
Window film requires time to fully cure after installation.
Curing can take up to 30 days. During this period you may notice:

Haze or cloudiness

Small water pockets
-
Slight visual distortion
These effects are normal and will gradually disappear as the film cures.
❌ Do not attempt to press, puncture, or disturb the film during curing.
2. Cleaning – When Can I Clean the Glass?
Do not clean the glass for at least 7 days after installation unless advised otherwise.
Cleaning too early can:

Damage the film
-
Lift edges
-
Invalidate warranty
3. Cleaning – How to Clean Window Film
Once the curing period has passed:
✔️Use:

Soft microfibre cloths
-
Soft rubber squeegees
-
Paper/kitchen roll
-
Mild soapy water or specialist window film cleaners
❌ Do NOT use:
-
Abrasive cloths or sponges
-
Scrapers, blades, or razor tools
-
Ammonia-based cleaners
-
Strong chemicals or solvents
Improper cleaning methods may permanently damage the film and are not covered under warranty.
4. External Window Film – Additional Guidance
External window film is exposed to the elements and requires extra care.

Expect more frequent cleaning due to weather and pollution
-
Do not use pressure washers or abrasive tools
-
Avoid scraping ice, debris, or contaminants from the film surface
Small particles or debris beneath external film are normal and do not affect performance.
5. Edges, Seams & Joints
You may notice:

Small edge gaps (typically 1–2mm)
-
Join lines or splices on larger panes
-
Hairline gaps where film sections meet
These are standard installation features and allow for:

Water drainage during installation
-
Thermal movement of frames and glass
-
Long-term performance of the film
They should not be tampered with.
6. Do Not Tamper With the Film
Do not:

Pick at edges
-
Apply tape or stickers directly to the film
-
Attempt repairs or trimming yourself
Any tampering may cause damage and will void applicable warranties.
7. Signs to Contact Us
Please contact us if you notice:

Large persistent bubbles after the curing period
-
Significant peeling or lifting
-
Visible defects outside normal tolerances
We must be given reasonable access to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
8. Warranty Reminder
Failure to follow these aftercare instructions may:

Damage the window film or glazing
-
Invalidate workmanship and manufacturer warranties
-
Result in chargeable remedial works
