  • Removal of existing window films

  • Survey and consultancy services

  • Supply-only window film (no installation)

Services are provided throughout Scotland and, where agreed, elsewhere in the UK. Overseas works are not undertaken.

3. Quotations & Surveys

All quotations are provided following:

  • An on-site survey or

  • A remote assessment based on photographs, drawings, or client-supplied information

Where quotations are based on photographs or client information, they are subject to confirmation on site. We reserve the right to revise quotations if actual site conditions differ from those described or shown.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Quotations are valid for 30 days

  • Surveys are free and non-binding

  • Surveys may be chargeable only where expressly agreed in advance (e.g. long-distance or out-of-hours surveys)

4. Glass Type, Condition & Suitability

The Client acknowledges that window film performance and suitability are dependent on the type, condition, and construction of the glass.

We are not responsible for:

  • Hidden defects in glass, seals, frames, coatings, or interlayers

  • Pre-existing damage or manufacturing defects

  • Non-compliant or aged glazing systems

  • Thermal stress or seal failure caused by pre-existing conditions or unsuitable glass types

Where glass type, coating, or construction differs from what was reasonably identifiable during survey, we reserve the right to:

  • Amend the specification

  • Revise the quotation

  • Decline installation if risk is deemed unacceptable

5. Installation Standards & Visual Acceptance

All installations are carried out to recognised professional industry standards.

5.1 Visual Assessment

Finished work is assessed:

  • From a distance not less than 6 feet (1.8 metres)

  • At a 90-degree viewing angle

  • Under normal day light conditions

  • From room side of the glass

5.2 Imperfections

Minor imperfections are considered acceptable, including but not limited to:

  • Small dust particles

  • Micro fibres 5mm or less in total length

  • Minor blemishes not visible under the conditions above

There is no guarantee of optically perfect glass, and window film will not be removed for minor defects that fall within these tolerances.

6. Curing Period

Window film requires a curing period which may vary depending on:

  • Film type

  • Glass type

  • Weather conditions

  • Ambient temperature

Curing may take up to 30 days, during which:

  • Haze, small water pockets, or visual distortion may be visible

  • These effects are normal and do not constitute a fault

7. External Installations

For external window film installations, the Client acknowledges that:

  • Environmental factors such as wind, rain, airborne dust, insects and debris are outside our control

  • Small particles or debris may become trapped beneath the film

Such occurrences:

  • Are normal for external applications

  • Do not affect film performance

  • Are purely aesthetic

Film will not be removed or replaced for these reasons.

8. Film Joins, Splices & Edge Gaps

Where glazing exceeds available film roll sizes:

  • Film may be installed in multiple sections

  • A splice or overlap joint may be required

Typically, a splice will create a visible hairline gap of approximately 1mm.

Joins may run vertically or horizontally, and placement is at our discretion, though we will aim to make them as inconspicuous as possible.

All film installations will include a 1–2mm clearance gap around edges, frames, or hardware to allow for:

  • Water guttering during installation

  • Thermal expansion and contraction of frames

For thicker safety films an edge gap will be 1-4mm, with 1-5mm being acceptable on films 7mil (175 microns) and above. Combination solar/safety films also fall into this category.

These features are standard practice and do not constitute defects.

9. Variations & Additional Works

If site conditions differ from those identified during survey, we reserve the right to:

  • Amend the scope of works

  • Apply additional charges

  • Delay works until variations are agreed

No additional work will be undertaken without client approval, unless required for safety or compliance.

10. Access, Preparation & Site Conditions

The Client is responsible for:

  • Providing clear and safe access to all work areas

  • Removing furniture, fixtures, alarms, or obstructions unless otherwise agreed

  • Ensuring permits, permissions, and parking arrangements are in place

If access is not available upon arrival, we reserve the right to:

  • Abort the works

  • Charge the full or partial contract value unless otherwise agreed

11. Waste, Clean-Up & Aftercare

We will remove installation waste generated by our works unless otherwise agreed.

Clients must follow all aftercare instructions provided. Failure to do so may invalidate warranties.

12. Payment Terms

Domestic Clients

Payment is due on completion, unless otherwise agreed.

We reserve the right to request payment in advance at our discretion.

Payment terms are 30 days from invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We reserve the right to:

Late payments may incur:

  • Statutory interest

  • Recovery of reasonable debt collection and legal costs

13. Cancellations

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation date.

Cancellations within 48 hours may incur:

  • Full or partial charges

  • Costs for labour, materials, or preparation already undertaken

14. Delays

We are not liable for delays caused by:

  • Weather conditions

  • Site readiness

  • Access issues

  • Client-requested changes

We accept no liability for losses arising from such delays.

15. Warranty

Manufacturer Warranty

All window films are supplied with manufacturer-backed warranties, subject to their terms.

Installation Warranty

We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty covering installation errors.

Where a manufacturer does not honour a valid warranty claim, we will cover replacement materials for the duration of the original manufacturer warranty.

16. Warranty Exclusions

Warranties do not cover:

  • Seal failure or thermal stress

  • Pre-existing glass defects

  • Damage caused by improper cleaning or chemicals

  • Client-installed or third-party films

  • Glass breakage

17. Aftercare Compliance

Aftercare instructions will be provided verbally, in writing, or electronically following installation.

Failure to follow the provided aftercare instructions may result in damage to the window film or glazing and will invalidate any applicable workmanship or manufacturer warranty.

Replacement or remedial works required as a result of incorrect aftercare will be chargeable.

18. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability is limited to the value of the contract.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect losses

  • Consequential losses

  • Loss of profit, business, or opportunity

19. Complaints Procedure

Any concerns must be raised promptly and in writing.

We must be given reasonable access to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.

20. Conduct & Abuse

We reserve the right to withdraw staff from site where:

  • Abuse, aggression, or unsafe behaviour occurs

  •

Such withdrawal will not invalidate payment obligations.

21. Data Protection & Marketing

We process personal data in line with UK data protection legislation.

Data may include:

  • Website enquiries

  • Job records and photographs

  • CCTV recordings at our premises

We may use anonymised site photographs for marketing unless you object in writing.
